Providing individual counseling for Adults, ages 18 to 99  

NOTE:  Thank you for visiting my page. As of May 1, 2018, I'm no longer taking new couples referrals. I am still taking individuals dealing with the effects of trauma, anxiety/panic, anger control, grief, loss, romantic break up  or dealing with stress from employment situations. I'm working on a more limited basis, only 15-20 hours each week by appointment.  Because of the brief nature of the therapy approaches I use, waiting lists are becoming a thing of the past and they are currently getting shorter.

TERMINATION OF THERAPY
 
Therapy is a process with a planned beginning, middle and end stage. Several or many sessions may be necessary to achieve therapeutic goals. There is sometimes a temptation to just drop out of therapy when one is either feeling better or feel that therapy isn't helping or taking a long time. These feelings are normal and you are encouraged to express these feelings with your therapist and work through them in a session rather than just not returning. The purpose of therapy is not to just make you "feel" better, but rather to help you "get" better. Feeling better is just the beginning! It is also natural to occasionally have negative feelings arise and make you wonder if therapy is not helping. Working through this with your therapist will have beneficial results and put you back on track.
